How we proof a building against birds
Every building is different, so we start with a survey of where the birds land, roost and nest. Flat ledges and signs usually suit pin and wire or spikes, open areas such as light wells and courtyards suit netting, and roof mounted solar panels need a mesh barrier around the edge. Where nests are present we check whether they are active first, because an active nest of any wild bird, the feral pigeon included, is protected by the Wildlife & Countryside Act 1981.
