What the season brings
Easter and May: ants coming indoors as the weather warms, and birds nesting in roofs. Nesting birds are protected by law, so what can be done depends on the time of year; see our guide to birds' nests in lofts.
August: wasp nests are at their biggest in late summer. Keep away from the entrance, and do not block or spray it.
Winter: mice and rats move indoors for warmth. Keep food in sealed containers and look for droppings along skirting boards and in cupboards.
