What affects the price

• Where they are nesting. Mice nest in hidden cavities: under kitchen units and stairs, near boiler pipework, and in loft spaces. The survey finds where they are living and the weak points they use to get in.

• How far they have spread. A few droppings behind one kitchen unit is a smaller job than activity on every floor.

• Flats and terraces. Mice move between homes through shared cavities and service runs. If the problem is coming from next door or a communal area, we tell you, so you can raise it with the neighbour, landlord or managing agent.

• The number of visits. The first visit starts the treatment, and follow-ups check it is working. The quote says how many are included.

• Proofing. Sealing the gaps mice use is what keeps them out afterwards.

Keeping the cost down

Food waste and pet food left out overnight attract mice and encourage them to settle. Keeping food in sealed containers and clearing up at night helps the treatment work faster. Call as soon as you see signs: a small problem is quicker to clear than a large one.
